The Retro Image Apparel Company (Retro) was founded in Seattle, WA in 2002.  Micro Beer Jerseys, Retro's sister company, was founded in 2008 in Portland, OR. 

The inspiration for The Retro Image Apparel Company which was re-branded as Retro in 2009 came from the 1923 Bauhaus Exhibition poster.

The company's first products were tee shirts, aprons and baby wear featuring imprinted vintage poster media.  In 2005, Retro began a major effort to manufacture cycling jerseys.  The current lines are sold globally today
