"Glory to Soviet Fliers!"

This Soviet propaganda poster, circa 1958, served as a vehicle to pay homage to the Motherland's fearless air pilots. The art illustrates Soviet air superiority and employs the Soviet Air force flag which was officially approved on August 29, 1924 by the Communist Party. It was known as Aerodrome flag of aviation detachments and formations. Its blue field and 14-ray rising sun, similar to Japan's, employs the red star and yellow hammer and sickle. The back of our jersey goes one step beyond, illustrating the fliers walking away toward glory!
